Back2Base is the flagship event of d-xtreme unit, the first edition was held in December 2004 and it is a platform for bringing young people together and strategically empowering them mentally, socially, morally and spiritually through a variety of programs including life-coaching sessions, word conferences, drama and music concerts, financial seminars, rallies, volunteer programs, skill acquisition, training, mentoring, etc.

tundeEKPEKUREDE, currently a Doctoral Student (DBA) at the University of Liverpool, UK, graduated with a second class upper honors degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Design from the University of Benin, as the best graduating structural engineering student in 1989 and was a recipient of the famous Professor Smith memorial award of the faculty of engineering on account of his excellent research work on the behavior of piles and piled structures. His active practice of engineering, led him into business management in 2000. In 2001, his consummate research zeal turned from Civil Engineering to General Management. In that same year he was admitted by the Lagos Business School to pursue a diploma in Advanced Management -Advanced Management Program (AMP-12).
Believing that the success of any endeavor rested in the quality of the management, he enrolled as a full time MBA student, at the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business – University College, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Graduating with honors in 2004, he set aside his hunger for a doctoral degree to acquire more firsthand management experience in industry. Between the years 2004 and 2008, he worked as a turnaround specialist in ailing British and Irish companies. At one time, he worked as CEO of Titan Precast Limited, Belfast, United Kingdom. In 2008 he returned to Nigeria and was immediately appointed Chief Operating Officer of ABB Powerlines Limited. After almost two years of management excellence he returned to research and management training in 2010.
He is currently CEO of Leader2Leader, a managerial peer to peer training consultancy and the now popular Learning 4 Living training organization and Learning for Living Business School. Combining strategic vision with execution capability, he has led teams to success in complex Change Management assignments and Operational decisiveness. wesleyEKPEKUREDE, a lecturer in Political Science at the Delta State university is a graduate of the University of Benin, where he also studied Comparative politics and development studies at the post graduate level. He has been involved in teaching courses in Political economy, methodology, public policy as well as international economic relations for at least seventeen (17) years at the university level.
He has to his credit, numerous publications in journals, e.g. Journal of Social Policy and Society, Journal of BusinessAdministration and Management as well as the Proceedings of the Association of Third World Studies (ATWS) in Georgia, United States.
His interest in academic research has seen participate in several conferences and workshops. Currently a doctoral candidate, his dissertation is on The Political Economy of Corruption in Post-Colonial Nigeria. A member several professional bodies such as the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA), Association of Third World Studies (ATWS), Inc., Georgia, United States; Associate member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM); fellow, Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development (FRHD); associate Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Industrial Administration (NIIA). He also served as a resource person to the DELTA STATE THINK TANK ON DEVELOPMENT (DSTTD) which facilitated the development of a blueprint to guide the government in development initiative at the state level.
He has also been involved in several workshops and training programs for staff of public and private organizations and as a resource person in diverse seminars and conferences organized by Local governments and the Organized Private sector within Nigeria. Before his foray into the academia, he had been involved in the corporate world garnering experience in consulting, management and personnel administration in various organizations in Lagos, Warri and Sapele.
